About Emmi

Emmi is a Finnish-born singer, composer, and violist with over eight years of teaching experience. She studied vocal pedagogy in Germany, then moved to London with a grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation to complete her MA in Contemporary Music Performance.

Her lessons focus on developing healthy, reliable vocal technique and practical musicianship skills. Emmi works with students of all levels, helping them improve tone, range, and control while applying clear, evidence-based methods for voice training. Emmi’s teaching philosophy centres on empowering students to take ownership of their learning, build vocal strength, and connect emotionally with their music.

In addition to teaching, Emmi writes and releases music under the name Emmi Maaria and has been featured on BBC 6 Music, Boogaloo Radio, and Radio Helsinki. She also composes for film and performs as a violist and singer in various collaborative projects.
